THE DIY GARAGE: Core Transplant Guide

This is a 1:1, pure hardware surgery. Take your time and stay focused. Welcome to the final step of your cockpit evolution. We provide the ultimate custom OEM armor, which means you’ve gotta transplant the core PCB from your factory key into our customized shell.

⚠️ The Golden Rule & Disclaimer Let’s be real—you need some basic hands-on skills for this. We are not responsible if you snap your OEM board, lose your chip, or brick your key while taking it apart. If you aren’t 100% confident, stop right now and take our shell and your factory key to a local performance shop or an auto locksmith.

If you’re ready, let’s get into it:

  • Step 1. Crack the OEM Shell: Grab a thin plastic trim tool or even a stiff guitar pick. Gently work your way around the seam of your factory plastic shell. Don’t force it, and avoid using bare metal flathead screwdrivers if you don’t want to chew up the plastic. Take your time and don’t break the internals.
  • Step 2. Extract the Core: Carefully pull out the green PCB. Super important: Make sure you find and remove the immobilizer transponder chip—it usually looks like a tiny black block or glass tube. If you leave it behind, your car won’t start!
  • Step 3. The Rebuild: Drop the board and the immobilizer chip exactly into the slots of your custom Prime shell. Since we utilize authentic OEM bases, everything will sit perfectly flush.
  • Step 4. Lock and Load: Snap the housing together. If your specific model uses retaining screws, tighten them down securely. Boom. Your ultimate cockpit key is ready.
